It’s Halloween today, which means two things: sugar highs and themed game add-ons. Several rounds of thematic DLC have hit the Internet this week, and today that continued as Ubisoft has released some new Smashing Pumpkins songs as Rocksmith 2014 DLC. The Smashing Pumpkins DLC pack is available now for download via Xbox Live for Xbox 360, PlayStation Network for PS3, and Steam for PC and Mac.
The Smashing Pumpkins songs included in this new five-song Rocksmith 2014 DLC pack are “Today”, “Bullet with Butterfly Wings”, “1979”, “Tonight, Tonight” and “Disarm.” The songs are available individually for $2.99, or you can grab the complete five-song pack for $11.99.
The Smashing Pumpkins pack is part of a wider array of Rocksmith 2014 DLC that’s either released already or will be releasing in the weeks and months ahead.
Rocksmith 2014 Edition is the sequel to 2011’s popular Rocksmith, which taught more than 1.5 million gamers how to play the guitar by enabling them to plug any real guitar or bass with a standard quarter-inch jack directly into their Xbox 360, PS3, PC or Mac.
Rocksmith 2014 includes new features, new modes, optimized tracking and responsiveness. The game has also received a completely redesigned interface, new techniques and tunings. The goal of all the upgrades, according to Ubisoft, is to teach aspiring guitarists how to play guitar in just 60 days.
Having Rocksmith 2014 DLC like Smashing Pumpkins isn’t alone going to get the job done, but it certainly shows that Ubisoft’s not afraid to have fun with its DLC strategy.
