Two independent but connected waves of downloadable content are coming to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Konami announced today, with each one introducing new areas, monsters and even new story lines. The two new Lords of Shadow DLC packs are called Reverie and Resurrection, but when they release in 2011, gamers won’t be able to play them in whichever order they wish.
In Reverie, players will return to the Castle as Gabriel to help Laura, the former servant to the vampire Carmilla, destroy the evil that was previously kept in check by the Queen. Once the evil is once again quelled, the Resurrection DLC will kick into gear and pick up the story directly after the end of the original game. In Resurrection, players will gain new insight into the dramatic epilogue seen upon completion — including info about Gabriel’s ultimate destiny.
Both Castlevania: Lords of Shadow DLC packs are expected to launch in “early 2011,” although a specific date has not yet been announced.
