Guitar Hero 3 is getting a new downloadable track via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Store, and it’s a pretty safe bet that it’ll be a hit: “I am Murloc” from World of Warcraft.
World of Warcraft players will remember the song “I am Murloc,” a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the beloved race of fish-people by Blizzard Entertainment’s house band, Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain.
The downloadable track will be available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on June 26, just before the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational is held in Paris. The download will be free on both Xbox Live and PlayStation Store, by the way.
This Guitar Hero 3 / WoW collaboration is the first real substantive example of content sharing between Activision and Vivendi since the companies proposed a merger that would make the combined company the largest third-party game publisher in the world.
