After bringing back PS4 bundles just last week, Amazon is beginning to sell out of what is presumably their final PS4 launch date inventory. Of the four PS4 launch date bundles Amazon brought back for pre-orders, the Watch Dogs bundle is now listed as sold out, with the message for would-be buyers to “Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available.”
As of press time, the other three bundles all remain shown as available for pre-order. How long that will remain true is uncertain. So, if you’re one of the few gamers interested in getting a console on the actual PS4 launch date who hasn’t yet pre-ordered, we recommend you do so today.
It’s somewhat surprising to see the PS4 Watch Dogs Launch Day Bundle be the first to return to “sold out” status, as the PS4 Battlefield 4 Launch Day Bundle had been the first one to originally sell out of its allotment. The BF4 bundle is alive and well, however — again, as of press time.
Sony’s PS4 Killzone Launch Day Bundle also remains open for pre-orders, which is equally surprising. The fourth package, a PS4 Knack Launch Day Bundle, can also still be pre-ordered, although that one’s availability is less surprising.
Once this round of PS4 launch date pre-orders is gone at Amazon, it’s likely to be gone for good. Currently, placing an order for one of these Amazon bundles or with a Sony Store directly are the only ways to guarantee a console on the PS4 launch date. After that, you’ll be stuck ordering a PS4 Standard Edition, which does not have an official ship date. Granted, neither do the launch bundles, but at least a pre-order here will guarantee you’ll get your package on the PS4 launch date.
