Nintendo is sure hitting The Legend of Zelda hard this year. First came the announcement that Link, the main character in The Legend of Zelda game,s would appear in Mario Kart 8 for Wii U. Then today Nintendo announced a The Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask 3DS remake is on the way for its handheld system in 2015.

News of The Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask 3DS remake hit during the latest Nintendo Direct. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask originally appeared on the Nintendo 64 in the late 1990s.

The 3DS version has been updated with new graphics and audio in addition to its customization for the 3DS interface. The Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask 3DS game will appear sometime during the spring of 2015.

The Legend of Zelda Mario Kart 8 DLC will debut November 13. An image from that DLC is shown above. In addition to Link, the Mario Kart 8 DLC will include characters from Excitebike and F-Zero.

Nintendo didn’t go into much detail today about The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D. The company did say that it “brings Link’s suspenseful, intricate quest through the mysterious world of Termina to a handheld system for the first time with enhanced 3D graphics and added features for a smoother game experience.”

The Nintendo Direct also revealed plans Nintendo has to dig farther back into its archives than just the N64. The company announced that its NES Remix series is coming to Nintendo 3DS on Dec. 5. The 3DS title will combine 16 of the top NES games from the NES Remix and NES Remix 2 games on Wii U. Famicom Remix Mode offers challenges from the Japanese version of NES Remix, featuring slightly different sound effects and backgrounds. In Speed Mario Bros., players can play through the original Super Mario Bros. ramped up to super speed. Ultimate NES Remix also features online leaderboards, allowing players to compare scores in challenges with others in their region.
