The mobster game Mafia is getting a sequel, as 2K Games announced today it will publish Mafia 2 for the PC and next-gen systems. The specific next-gen systems were not unveiled.
Like the original Mafia, this sequel will take place in during a fictional late 1940s-early 1950s period. The gameplay will combine both behind-the-wheel and on-foot action, and it will be moved forward by a mobster-focused narrative.
Mafia 2 is being developed by Illusion Softworks, developers of the original Mafia title. No release date was announced.
