Just in time for weekend rockin’, Activision has uploaded some new Guitar Hero World Tour downloadable content: Jimi Hendrix and R.E.M. The content is now available for the PS3 and Xbox 360, of course, but surprisingly, it’s also available for the Nintendo Wii.
A three-pack of Jimi Hendrix downloadable master tracks is available today for the Xbox 360 and PS3. This three-pack includes the blues track “If 6 was 9,” the R&B classic “Little Wing” and a live version of “Fire.”
The Wii version of Guitar Hero World Tour is missing out on these Jimi Hendrix tracks, but Wii owners — along with PS3 owners — are getting three songs from R.E.M.’s newest album, Accelerate. The R.E.M. track pack can be downloaded as a three-song package or individually (singles only on Wii). The R.E.M. songs are Horse to Water,” “Man-Sized Wreath” and “Supernatural Superserious.” The R.E.M. songs are not available on Xbox 360.
