While many independent developers and the media focus on Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Store and WiiWare for their mass-market games, one indie group today announced it’s working on a stand-alone, retail-destined party game for the Wii.
Called Party Crashers, the game is scheduled to hit retail in April 2009. Published by Detn8 Games Ltd., Party Crashers is being developed by Twelve Interactive.
Party Crashers is composed of 25 party games, including action games, puzzle games, brain teasers and a music-based game. Using crash-dummy characters, Party Crashers includes individual games such as Pie in the Face, Chinese Plates, Dummy Cannonball, Pizza Delivery, Treasure Island and Dummy Dance, some of which will need to be unlocked.
As a party game, it goes without saying that Party Crashers will include a multiplayer mode, but details of that have not yet been announced.
