The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return Ship for Wii

March 11, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

SEGA today shipped The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return for the Nintendo Wii, the latest game(s) to take advantage of the light-gun-friendly functionality of the Wii Remote.

The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return includes two of the best versions from the popular arcade series, The House of the Dead 2 and The House of the Dead III, but it also includes a few new features exclusive for Wii gamers.

As you’d expect, The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return pits players against a relentless attack of zombies, experimental horrors and gigantic monstrosities. As players advance through each chapter, branching stages will reveal the terrible secrets behind the undead horrors. However, there’s a big catch exclusive to the Wii version: beating it unlocks a new gameplay mode.

Completing The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return will unlock Extreme Mode, an exclusive gameplay feature that delivers an exciting new single player challenge found in The House of the Dead III. In Extreme Mode, players will be armed with a new “Guard Attack” that can be used as both a melee attack and a life-saving defensive technique.

All told, The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return features seven gameplay modes: Arcade, Original, Training and Boss mode from The House of the Dead 2, and Arcade, Time Attack and the Wii-exclusive Extreme Mode from The House of the Dead III.

Since this is a light-gun-like game, it includes full compatibility with the Wii Zapper and co-op multiplayer mode for up to two players.
