Lest you forget about Far Cry 2 — one of our favorite shooters at E3 2008 — we’d like to send word that Far Cry 2 has gone gold for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC today, putting the game on track to ship for all three platforms on Oct. 21.
Far Cry 2 runs on an all-new game engine and, like the original Far Cry, features non-scripted enemy AI and completely destructible environments. It also has dynamic fire and storm effects, both of which provide some devious opportunities in both the single- and multiplayer modes.
The game takes place in a war-torn, African state 50 square kilometers in size. Players will find themselves forced to make deals with corrupt warlords on both sides of the conflict in order to survive and move closer to their primary objective, the Jackal.
DailyGame hopes to have a review of Far Cry 2 for you in the weeks ahead.
