Spore Goes Gold for PC and Mac

August 14, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

Maxis and Electronic Arts today announced that Spore, probably one of the most anticipated PC games ever (and no, that’s not just hype), has gone gold for both PC and Mac. The game is scheduled to ship in Europe on Sept. 5 and in North America and Asia on Sept. 7.

Spore gives players their own personal universe in a box, allowing gamers to create and evolve life, establish tribes, build civilizations, sculpt entire worlds and explore a universe created by other gamers. Nearly every aspect of their created universe can be customized, from creatures and vehicles to buildings and spaceships.

Once created, these items (or beings, or worlds) can then be shared via the Sporepedia, which lets players explore new galaxies created by other gamers as well.

Spore Creatures for Nintendo DS and Spore Origins for mobile phones will also be available globally on Sept. 7.
