Ubisoft’s awesome-but-frustratingly-underselling adventure game Beyond Good & Evil is available for download now on Xbox Live Arcade. It’s not just a run-of-the-mill port, however, as Ubisoft has upgraded all the graphics to justify its semi-new name of “Beyond Good & Evil HD.” A PS3 version of Beyond Good & Evil HD will not appear on the PlayStation Network until “later this year,” according to the publisher.
DailyGame will have a full review of Beyond Good & Evil HD in the days ahead. This persnickety redesign has just taken away from our review time for the past week or so.
Beyond Good & Evil HD, as with the original BG&E for Xbox, lets gamers play as Jade, a young investigative reporter on a mission to expose a terrible government conspiracy. Wary of her government’s promises to repel the aliens for good, she sets out to capture the truth behind the prolonged war.
Armed with a camera, a dai-jo staff and fierce determination, Jade must ultimately save her planet and its inhabitants.
The PSN release date for Beyond Good & Evil HD was not available as of this publishing. We will likely learn more about its PS3 fate at E3, when Ubisoft shares more information about when the Xbox 360’s timed exclusivity will run out.
