Two games for smart people are headed to Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, as Word Puzzle and Switchball will both appear on Microsoft’s online store.
Word Puzzle provides a new spin on the classic word search game, as it takes the traditional pen-and-paper word-search game to the digital realm with 3D boards, exploding word bombs and a host of brain-teasing challenges. All told, Word Puzzle includes five game modes, Xbox Live support for up to four players, and Xbox Live Vision Camera support.
Switchball, meanwhile, lets players embrace the laws of physics in a way that would make Sir Isaac Newton proud. In the game, players conquer labyrinthine mazes as they manipulate the physical properties of an ever-changeable ball to solve puzzles. Players can morph into a Metalball and ram objects out of their way, charge a Powerball to dash up ramps and jump over obstacles, switch to an Airball to float over physics-based death traps, or use a Marbleball for speedy action. The game includes five 3D environments, a two-player co-op mode and an eight-player competitive mode (racing) via Xbox Live.
Both games carry a price of 800 Microsoft Points.
