Call of Duty Ghosts Gameplay Launch Trailer

October 21, 2013 by Sara Leave a Comment

So yeah, people are excited about Call of Duty: Ghosts. Multiplayer fans, narrative fans, folks with a nasty habit of buying every COD game that comes out “just because.” The title’s still three weeks away from shipping for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, but that hasn’t stopped Activision from giving gamers a little somethin’ somethin’ to bide the time: a new Call of Duty Ghosts gameplay launch trailer.

Launch trailer, you say? Yes, that’s what it’s called, although it’s Activision’s name for it, not ours. In this trailer, you’ll see a typical scenario for COD players: being outnumbered and outgunned, but not outmatched. Call of Duty Ghosts takes players to a world altered by a devastating mass event. Following an elite squad of soldiers known as the “Ghosts,” gamers will lead the fight back against a newly emerged global power.

This new Call of Duty Ghosts gameplay launch trailer follows similar videos from Infinity Ward such as the Squads trailer and a single-player Campaign video. The latter doesn’t divulge too much about the Call of Duty Ghosts single-player campaign storyline, but it does share some of the epic moments in store when the game ships for every conceivable platform — including Xbox One and PS4 — this November. Call of Duty Ghosts is a launch title for both the PS4 and Xbox One.

When you’re done watching the Call of Duty Ghosts gameplay launch trailer above, you may be interested in reading a bit more about the game’s multiplayer modes and maps. We’ve got you covered there, too. We had the good fortune to play three of the Call of Duty Ghosts multiplayer maps, and each one left us impressed in unique ways. Here is the link to our Whiteout multiplayer map preview, followed by our Octane multiplayer map preview and Strikezone multiplayer map preview. We spent four hours playing various modes on those three maps, and it was just a sampling of what the full game has in store.

If the video above has you excited, don’t worry about wasting money if you buy the game on Xbox 360 or PS3 and soon thereafter pony up for an Xbox One and/or PS4. Activision has announced that Call of Duty Ghosts is part of the PlayStation Upgrade program, meaning it’ll cost you just $10 to upgrade to the PS4 version if you buy the PS3 SKU first. A similar promo is expected for Xbox One owners who buy the Xbox 360 version. These promotions are “limited time” deals, so if you want to get a next-gen title for $10, you’ll have to decide pretty quickly and purchase one of the next-gen consoles early in its lifecycle.
