The Proposal stars Sandra Bullock, a high-powered publisher on the verge of being deported and losing the high-powered job she lives for, and Ryan Reynolds, a wanna-be editor who just so happens to have the keys to Bullock’s freedom: he’s single. After telling her bosses that she and Reynolds are engaged (a total farse), Bullock is presented with a few demanding proposals by Reynolds himself.
Upon heading for Alaska to meet Reynolds’ parents, the unassuming couple has four days to convince his quirky family that they really are engaged — and to convince an immigration officer of the same thing.
