Mobile developer Apprope today released HANGMAN, its new free game title for iOS and Android. Nearly everyone has scribbled a simple scaffold at one point or another to pass the time with a friend. The concept is as simple as it is flexible and challenging; guess a word by eliminating letters without making so many incorrect choices as to “hang” your victim.
HANGMAN will no longer have to be played on scraps of paper and restaurant napkins, however. The classic word game has finally become a free smartphone app, ready to amuse the next generation of players.
The jump in technology hasn’t left HANGMAN unchanged. Players can now practice by themselves, browsing the app’s internal dictionary for categories like celebrities, geography, or sports. For the more competitively-minded, Facebook tracks friends’ progress against each other, so that they can compare who has been able to solve the most puzzles.
The most exciting addition is a new two-player mode, where players can compete against each other in real time to “hang” each other’s characters. Never before has HANGMAN been so interactive. With these updates, HANGMAN is sure to provide decades of additional fun for people of all ages.
The game has been translated into eight different languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian. With thousands of different words, HANGMAN offers a wide range of challenges that can keep players occupied for hours.
