Big Future Media has updated its Ask Grandma app, which just passed gas 50,000 downloads since its launch three months ago. Today’s update includes a complete overhaul of the look and functionality of the apps, which is bound to please the app’s teenaged users. Yes, that’s right: teens are the top demographic downloading the Ask Grandma app. Who’d a-thunk?
“We have noticed that with Ask Grandma, over half of our downloads are coming from teens. So, with this release, we really allowed the user to dictate what the look and flow of the app should be and we can’t wait for the response. We are already back at the drawing board coming up with several other characters.” said Adam McArthur, co-founder of Big Future Media.
Key feature additions/changes include:
* Added microphone button so user can dictate when to ask question
* Mic functionality also works to stop character listening to question for loud environments
* Change to make it easier to share on Facebook and Twitter
* User Interface overhaul
* New icons for the new looks
* See other characters directly on the home screen
“We really listened to the feedback from people using the app and, though they loved it, there were some changes they wanted to see. So we made them! As we continue to climb in the charts, we honor that those using our apps will be who makes them great. Sometimes you get so immersed in an app that you forget what it is to look at it with fresh eyes. And we wanted to make sure we rolled out the new features they wanted with a fun new character,” said Chris Cotty, another founder of Big Future Media.
All Ask Grandma characters have 25 pre-loaded answers each.
