Brasov, Romania – Fun Vision Studios today is pleased to introduce BooBoo Pets 1.0.1 for iOS, its new interactive game where players help their virtual pets grow and evolve. The pink, furry balls with short arms and legs each have independent, characteristic behaviors. Players must determine when their pets are in the mood for food, drink, play, or love, and if they fail to provide any of these basic needs they may need to re-establish their pet’s trust and love. Reaching 100% happiness and 100% maturity through attentive care over time, pets can evolve through four stages, and upcoming updates will allow them to reproduce and create a family.

Tamagotchi, virtual pets, digital pets, and artificial pets are all classified by Wikipedia as “…a type of artificial human companion. They are usually kept for companionship or enjoyment. People may keep a digital pet in lieu of a real pet.” Providing via simulation many of the emotional rewards of owning actual pets, hundreds of millions are cared for daily, alive in standalone toys, mobile devices, and computers.
BooBoo Pets follows in the tradition of the original Tamagotchi, but exploits the HiRes graphics & animation capabilities of modern iOS devices. Each round, furry pet appears fullscreen with meters that display its percentage of happiness and maturity. Players must respond to the needs of their pets at the appropriate time. When a pet is hungry, the player can touch the Food button and select from various foods. Each dish has its own cost in gold coins and has its own positive effect on the Happiness meter.
There are also buttons for Drink, Play, and Love. There are various choices in each category and each has its own cost and benefit. As players come to understand their behaviors, they become more adept at sensing what their pet is in the mood for. This acquired sensitivity leads to higher happiness and maturity scores, until both reach 100%. Planned updates let pets reproduce, creating a more highly evolved offspring and family.
