Hermosa Beach, California – Bump Record is an iPhone and iPad volleyball game intended for young kids learning the game and adults who love the game. The goal is to keep the volleyballs alive by bumping them up with a swipe of the finger and establishing a personal record of consecutive bumps. You can bump off walls, bump indoors and on the beach-but you can’t let the balls hit the ground. Balls heat up and can be spiked when they catch fire. The game connects to Game Center and tracks the best bump records in the world.
Intuitive swiping creates a fluid and natural bumping motion. Players will learn to juggle multiple balls at once. The game start indoors and graduates to the windy, rainy, and dark conditions of the beach scene.
Bump Record was created by interactive designer Dan Madden with professional beach volleyball player Billy Allen. Madden and Allen had previously collaborated to create a volleyball entertainment company from 2007-2011 called The Kinda Good Plan. They created Bump Record as a way to help kids and their parents interact with the game of volleyball even when they weren’t able to play.
