Miami, Florida – It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a…red panda?! SkyJoy Interactive, an emerging Miami-based video game developer focused on casual and social games in the mobile market, today reveals more details behind the story and characters in their first title, starring the charming red panda Super Kid Cannon. Launching this fall on both iOS and Android mobile devices, Super Kid Cannon is the first game of its kind: a vertical launcher! Featuring an incredible adventure with brilliant characters in a “Classic platformer meets iOS” style game, Super Kid Cannon is an enchanting story of the hero, his girlfriend, Justine, and how far he’ll go to save her from the clutches of pure evil.
“We want Justine to represent a new type of female protagonist in video games,” said Abboudi Taher, Founder and CEO at SkyJoy Interactive. “She’s strong, feminine, cute, and a loyal companion, but she’s not a wimp. Her strength and spirit were key points we’re keeping in mind during development”
Super Kid Cannon opens with a seemingly simple love story: Super Kid Cannon, a heroic red panda, will journey through mystical and magical places to save his beloved Justine from the evil clutches of the despicable Kahn. The prettiest of all the red panda girls in the forest, she’s a spunky and energetic addition twist to the traditional “damsel in distress,” preferring to adventure alongside Super Kid Cannon through the danger and excitement, rather than sitting around waving her tail and batting her eyes like the rest. As Super Kid Cannon’s love interest, she becomes the catalyst for his grandest adventure yet.
It’s during one of their adventures together that Kahn, the darkest of all the snow leopards, has snatched her up! Upon being kidnapped by the eternal villain Kahn, Justine puts up a fight every step of the way, but is simply no match for Kahn’s impressive leopard strength. Yet despite her dainty demeanor, Justine has a core of steel, and deep down she remains calm, never doubting that Super Kid Cannon will follow them and stop at nothing to rescue her!
“We wanted to take the standard lady love gets kidnapped story and give her a more independent attitude and not just some wilting flower,” said Miguel Portilla, Co-Founder and Vice President of SkyJoy Interactive. “Sure, Justine still gets kidnapped in the end, but it isn’t because she’s a girl who can’t do anything for herself – and she’s willing to fight tooth and claw despite Kahn’s superior strength. If Justine can find a way to help Super Kid Cannon, she will.”
It’s now up to Super Kid Cannon to rescue his love, and the affable red panda will stop at nothing to save her – and to teach his old foe a lesson he won’t soon forget! Skyjoy’s artists create hand drawn levels on paper before handing them off to the development team who turns them into fully fleshed digital images – no doodles here! Super Kid Cannon promises to take players on an exciting ride through hand-crafted levels featuring a variety of easy-to-play mechanics.
Super Kid Cannon features fast-paced vertical-scrolling action along with strategic planning to progress through levels. The game can easily be played by everyone but incorporates features and extras designed to offer a challenge to hardcore gamers. Super Kid Cannon will include a variety of memorable characters, each one with their own unique personality and traits. Social integrations such as comparing ratings, scores and checking a friend’s progress in the game will also be available.
