CHENGDU, China, May 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — TribePlay, developer of the multi award-winning Dr. Panda series of kids’ apps, has announced that the series has garnered more than 22 million times since its inception in 2012 with the release of Dr. Panda, Teach Me!, Dr. Panda’s Hospital, and Dr. Panda’s Restaurant.
The Dr. Panda series, which TribePlay CEO Thijs Bosma says focuses on “helping kids understand life and the world around them”, spans 14 paid apps and 5 free apps. Dr. Panda’s Restaurant 2, a cooking app for kids released in February for $2.99, was a hit for the company. Breaking all previous records held by TribePlay, it debuted on the top of the kids category on the App Store throughout Europe. It has maintained high rankings both in Europe and in the US since its release, and has received over 1000 5-star ratings worldwide from users on Apple and Android devices.
TribePlay has also announced that the next game in the Dr. Panda series, Dr. Panda’s Toy Cars, will be available on May 8th for $1.99. The game is focused on free-play and role-playing, and works to create an environment free of time limits or expendable currency that kids can freely enjoy. There are two cities players can explore with a number of different vehicles, ranging from fire trucks to sports cars. Each car has unique features to add to the experience.
“This game has quite a different art style from the rest of our Dr. Panda games, but we’ve found both kids and parents really like it’s flat and storybook-like illustrations.” says Thijs Bosma. “Kids can spend hours with Dr. Panda’s Toy Cars pretending they are a police officer or a truck driver and just create their own stories.”
Dr. Panda’s Toy Cars will be available worldwide on the App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore for Android on May 8th.
