We've all heard about The Phantom, a console that went nowhere in a hurry, and OnLive has done well but not exactly taken off. New Valve Statment Regarding Steam Intrusion: Credit Card Info Got Out, Likely Safe
Valve's Gabe Newell today issued a new statement to update Steam users about the company's ongoing investigation and actions related to the Steam hack/intrusion late last year. The gist of the note, which you can read in its entirety below, is that Valve's still looking into things but is proactively letting its users know that encrypted credit card info may have gotten into the hands of the intruders. Steam Hacked; Credit Card Info Appears to be Safe
Sony weathered a vicious PSN hack earlier this year that caused an interruption in PlayStation Network service and the release of users' sensitive information. It looks like someone also has an issue with Valve and its Steam service, as Valve chief Gabe Newell has proactively distributed a letter indicating that Steam has been hacked as well. Portal 2 Review
Portal was one of those “where the heck did this come from?” type of games when Valve shipped it as part of The Orange Box. Nothing quite like it had been done before, so reviewing Portal was a bit of a pain. Between its mix of brain-teasing puzzles, its unique physics-reliant portal gun and the brilliantly dry sense of humor of its narrator/boss GLaDOS, Portal wasn’t as much a “game” as it was an experience.
