A new pinball-like game, Flipper Critters, has a date with Nintendo DS retailers in October.
Flipper Critters, shipping on Oct. 9, features cute inhabitants whose perilous quests offer a new take on traditional pinball. Players are transformed into characters Monkey and Tiger and must progress though the game’s world on “pinball tables” landscaped by mountain valleys, towering castles and a moonscape.
Flipper Critters uses the DS’ dual screens to show off a larger part of the game’s cartoony world, and it incorporates the touch screen to activate switches and ramps. It also includes minigames such as the Flying Battle, a game in which players fly a vehicle and throw bananas, furious carrots, bitter lemons and heated melons at opponents to score points.
The game will retail for an estimated price of $14.99.
