Electronic Arts has tweaked the Battlefied model for the franchise’s next chapter, turning it from a war-driven game to one more akin to cops and robbers. Skeptics wanted to get into the original Battlefield Hardline beta to see how it works, but its platform exclusivity let only a few try it out. That’s about to change, as EA announced the Battlefield Hardline Open Beta will be available on all platforms.
EA did not announce when the Battlefield Hardline Open Beta will go live. But whenever it does go online, the Battlefield Hardline Open Beta will be available on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. A PC version will also be available.
We do know a few more details about the Battlefield Hardline Open Beta, though, including that it will include two different maps and showcase two modes. First, take a test drive of Hotwire, a new mode that’s focused on combining all-out warfare with all-out speed.
The other option will be to go all-out in 64-player cops and criminals warfare in Conquest mode. This is probably what stalwart Battlefield fans will be most interested in, as it’s the most familiar to them. However, even then it will include some unique twists that jive with the Hardline model.
EA also announced that the Battlefield Hardline Open Beta won’t put a cap on players’ max progression level. This is a great touch, because it will mean that players can really get a taste for what the game holds whether they’re busting criminals or fleeing the cops.
Although EA didn’t say whether the Battlefield Hardline Open Beta will include all the final game’s classes, the publisher did indicate that it will include “different classes” as well as “different gadgets.”
