Criterion Games will be doing something a bit different with its fantastic racing game Burnout Paradise this fall: make the game available digitally via the U.S. PlayStation Store. Better yet, it will do so as part of the Platinum Hits collection, meaning Burnout Paradise will be available for $29.99.
This downloadable PS3 version of Burnout Paradise will incorporate all of the updates that Criterion has uploaded and will upload to the current retail version of the game.
The first of those updates is available now for free through the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace. The update includes three new game modes, new cars and 70 new multi-part challenges. It also introduces a live news page where players can track their game progress and find out news on upcoming online multiplayer events.
More downloadable content will ship this Fall for Burnout Paradise, including trophy support and motorcycles — all free — through the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace. If those updates appear before the digital PS3 copy of the game, they will be included in that PSN Platinum Hits download package.
