The Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition was announced today, with a release date that’s coming up sooner than one might have expected. Bethesda Softworks today announced that the compendium will be available in North America on Oct. 8 and throughout Europe on Oct. 11. The Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition will ship for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It will cost $39.99 — a fantastic deal.
Dishonored was one of the more intriguing titles in 2012, a rare breed that sold well and met with good critical acclaim. The Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition includes that full original game, as well as all of its official DLC released since its initial release. That DLC includes Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches and Void Walker’s Arsenal.
Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition is the definitive compilation of a title that won more than 100 Game of the Year Awards. The game casts players in the role of Corvo, a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. With Dishonored’s flexible combat system, gamers can creatively eliminate targets as they combine the supernatural abilities, weapons and unusual gadgets at their disposal.
The gameplay is more than just combat, though. Players can pursue enemies under the cover of darkness in addition to ruthlessly attacking them head-on. The outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices players make.
“Dishonored introduced a new world and cast of characters which have really resonated with gamers around the world since its release in October 2012,” said Pete Hines, VP Marketing and PR, Bethesda Softworks. “We’re now excited to offer people the opportunity to have all of this great content in one package.”
