Electronic Arts today unloaded the Xbox 360 demo for FaceBreaker, an arcade-inspired boxing game, onto Xbox Live in North America. The PS3 version will hit the PlayStation Network on August 14.
The FaceBreaker demo features three characters — Sparrow, Ice and Steve — as well as a sneak peek at the game’s custom face generator, which EA is calling “Photo Game Face.”
We saw the Photo Game Face in action at E3 2008, as EA demonstrated a Peter Moore character (who will be included in the final game, by the way) strutting his stuff in the ring. Photo Game Face lets gamers upload a cartoon likeness of themselves (or anyone else) to EA Sports World and manipulate the image before bringing it into the game. Players can use an Xbox Live Vision camera or a PlayStation Eye camera to upload photos directly onto their consoles. There are then more than 60 customization options to play with, plus costumes.
FaceBreaker will ship on September 3 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 — for only $49.99. That’s a nice pricing change of pace for an EA game…. FaceBreaker K.O. Party for the Wii will available this holiday season.
