Electronic Arts today announced the ship date for Madden NFL 09 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and basically every game system under the sun. The date: August 12.
In addition to the standard retail version, there will also be a a special Collector’s Edition in celebration of the franchise’s 20th anniversary. The Madden NFL 09 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition will include full versions of both Madden NFL 09 and NFL Head Coach 09, exclusive classic Madden NFL gameplay and bonus video content.
Because it will include both games, the Collector’s Edition will let players easily import their user-designed plays from NFL Head Coach 09 and put them into Madden NFL 09. That provides an answer to yet more question: yes, the games will be able to interact with one another.
Madden NFL 09 will be available for (take a deep breath: the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, the PlayStation 2, the Nintendo Wii, the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP (PlayStation Portable).
