Konami’s bought into the compilation craze, announcing it has shipped the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection features three complete games: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The re-mastered HD collection retails for $49.99.
The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection includes brand new features such as 1080p graphics, a user interface that’s been rebalanced for HDTVs, right analog stick input and force feedback, Trophies on the PS3, Achievements on Xbox 360, worldwide matchmaking for multiplayer, and the oddly named save-data sharing with PSP that Konami calls “Transfarring.”
Konami will release a Limited Edition version simultaneously for the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. The Limited Edition version will include the remastered games as well as specialized packaging created by the series’ lead artist, Yoji Shinkawa, and a 248 page artbook called The Art of Metal Gear Solid.
