Golden Axe: Beast Rider shipped today for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, marking the first time the storied Golden Axe franchise has appeared on a next-gen console.
Golden Axe: Beast Rider follows Tyris Flare, the original heroine from the arcade classic, and includes five playable beasts that enhance Tyris’ ability to defeat the evil Death Adder and his minions. Tyris (and thus players) embark on an adventure to rescue the dragon titan and thwart Death Adder’s plans.
The five beasts on which Tyris can ride are the Abrax, Lynth, Miragore, Krommath and Megabrax. Each has unique skills and powers. In addition, the health- and mana-dropping gnomes make their return in this new Golden Axe game, with the addition of three other gnomes that drop items that can either help or hurt Tyris. And yes, other old series stand-bys are also included, such as the massive titan skeletons.
