Tonight’s matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs has a little added meaning for 2K Sports. For that matter, the entire Western Conference Finals means something to them. Reason being, 2K Sports named regular-season MVP Kevin Durant NBA 2K15 cover athlete. Naturally, the farther OKC and Durant go in the NBA playoffs, the better that signing looks.
Durant won his first MVP award this season, dethroning Lebron James in a contest that some argue was long overdue. Durant’s MVP acceptance speech, typical of his humble nature, highlighted the players and people in his life — including a tearful shout-out to Russell Westbrook — more than it did his own accomplishments.
