The latest music game is headed to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 today, as Konami has shipped Rock Revolution for both platforms. With Rock Band 2 already out and Guitar Hero: World Tour headed to stores soon, is this game too much? Konami doesn’t think so, and it hopes you don’t, either.
Rock Revolution ships with more than 40 rock songs spanning a range of bands and eras. The game will also get post-launch DLC via Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Store.
In Rock Revolution, players take the role of one of 15 characters and perform in real-world venues. In addition to the Career Mode, up to six players can rock together online, or up to three players offline can jam in Versus, Co-Op and Band Battle modes.
The Career Mode involves players taking their band to the top of the charts by performing songs, learning techniques, creating set lists and completing various musical challenges.
Rock Revolution is compatible with most drum and guitar peripherals. Konami also plans to release a Rock Revolution bundle (a copy of the game and a drum peripheral) on Nov. 11. You can pre-order Rock Revolution with Drum Kit from Amazon.
