Konami today shipped Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles for the PlayStation Portable, the first Castlevania game to appear on Sony’s handheld system.
Developed exclusively for the PSP, Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles brings Castlevania: Rondo of Blood in two versions to North America for the first time: the original 2D form and an updated 3D version with new gameplay elements. In addition, the game disk includes the famed Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, complete with redone voice-over, translation and content previously available only in the Japanese version.
Players can battle through the game’s 10-plus stages as either Richter Belmont or Maria Renard, each with his or her own unique skills and battle abilities. In addition to new 3D graphics, Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles will feature new character designs by renowned Castlevania visualist Ayami Kojima. The game will also introduce a new sound collection system that will let players find songs from both Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night and create their own custom soundtracks as they play.
