If you’re looking forward to some handheld MMA action but thought the MMA games were coming only to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, 505 Games has some news you’ll want to hear: Supremacy MMA is going to appear on the PlayStation Vita this holiday. Supremacy MMA was previously only announced as a console release.
Supremacy MMA for PlayStation Vita will include exclusive content such as new fighters, new venues and Vita-only features. What exactly those features, fighters and venues are, however, remains unannounced.
Supremacy MMA has real-world fighters including former UFC champ Jens Pulver, not to mention the first real female fighters in an MMA game, Felice Herrig and Michele Gutierrez. Unlike many fighting games, however, Supremacy MMA doesn’t focus on sim-style presentation but on fast arcade-style gameplay.
Ian Howe, President of 505 Games in North America, said when announcing Supremacy MMA for PlayStation Vita: “The arcade-styled gameplay is perfectly suited for quick handheld sessions, and the game looks amazing on Sony’s hot new tech.”
Supremacy MMA will be the only MMA fighting game this year when it ships on September 20 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The PlayStation Vita version will ship sometime during the Holiday 2011 shopping season.
