The soundtrack to Disney Epic Mickey is going to be released for iTunes and most other digital media retailers on December 21st. Emmy Award winning Jim Dooley is the composer and the 20 tracks will be released by Walt Disney Records.
“Jim Dooley perfectly understood the concept of classic Disney sound and was able to compose a slightly off-center feel to match the unique world of Wasteland in Disney Epic Mickey,” said Warren Spector, general manager and creative director, Disney Interactive Studios’ Junction Point. “The intuition and skill that makes Jim Dooley one of the industry’s top musical talents is represented in Disney Epic Mickey. The range of emotions in his score is simply stunning and one that fans will enjoy both within the game and on its own.”
Disney Epic Mickey was made for the Wii and is an action-adventure platforming game. Mickey Mouse goes on a journey to discover forgotten character and attractions in Wasteland. Mickey is armed with paint and paint thinner to alter Wasteland and ultimately working towards being a hero.
With each use of paint or paint thinner, Mickey can alter his environment and change the story that he plays in. The concept of “Playstyle Matters” is introduced which allows players to tackle challenges and determine how what they want their world to be like and then deal with the consequences of their choices.
