Ubisoft is taking the Assassin’s Creed engine in a whole new direction, announcing today it’s working on Shaun White Snowboarding for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. Oddly enough, the game will also appear on the Wii, even though Assassin’s Creed, whose engine is the basis for Shaun White Snowboarding, never appeared on Nintendo’s console.
Shaun White Snowboarding is slated for release during the holiday season this year.
The Wii version isn’t a lazy port, don’t worry about that. In fact, the Wii version of Shaun White Snowboarding is being developed from the ground up for the Wii and will use the Wii Balance Board accessory that came packaged with Wii Fit. The Wii version will also feature its own unique storyline and adventure with Shaun White.
The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will be innovative in their own way, as Shaun White Snowboarding will take place in a completely open world. In these open-world mountains, players can choose how they ride and where, and they’ll be playing in a world where their friends are always around, much like Burnout Paradise.
The game will also offer more than snowboarding when playing with friends, as it will let players throw snowballs, hike to access secret spots, film their friends and then upload their videos online.
