The summer movie season is upon us, which means Steven Spielberg is on everyone’s mind. Today, though, Spielberg took a break from his filmmaking to ship his first video game project. Called Boom Blox, the game is exclusive to the Nintendo Wii and is being published by Electronic Arts.
In Boom Blox, players make their way through almost 400 levels of strategic destruction in which they setup the angle and knock as many blocks to the ground as possible in the fewest number of attempts. The brain-twisting levels support single-player, co-op and versus multiplayer modes.
Boom Blox includes more than 30 wacky characters, each with distinct personalities and behaviors. The game worlds are also creative, as they consist of Tiki, Medieval, Frontier and Haunted themes.
Boom Blox also includes a level editor so players can build their very own levels in Create Mode. Players can even remix any existing levels in the game using any props, blocks or characters that have been unlocked throughout the game.
User-created levels can also be shared with friends or used to challenge others via WiiConnect24.
