Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned, the first episode of downloadable content for GTA IV, was officially unveiled today for Xbox 360 and given a release date. Available exclusively on Xbox Live on February 17, 2009 — and yes, it will be available worldwide on that date — GTA IV: The Lost and Damned will feature new content and is the first of two episodes announced for Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360.
Set in Liberty City, GTA IV: The Lost and Damned features a new main character and plot that intersects with the storyline of the core Grand Theft Auto IV game. New missions will offer “an entirely fresh way to explore Liberty City,” says Rockstar North, with new multiplayer modes, new weapons and new vehicles. It will include additional music on its all-new soundtrack.
Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned requires players to have the full version of GTA IV for Xbox 360. It will also require an Xbox Live membership to download. Further details, including pricing, will be announced soon.
Based on the first GTA IV: The Lost and Damned screenshots, it appears that the game will focus on a biker gang war between “The Lost” and “The Damned.” Head over to the screenshots link above to see the first four images from the game.
