Xbox 360 owners are getting a new type of puzzle game this Wednesday, as Buku Sudoku will become the first Sudoku game available on Xbox Live Arcade. Atari’s arcade classic Warlords will also launch on Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday (May 28).
Buku Sudoku (800 Microsoft Points) will upgrade the traditional paper-and-pencil game with high-definition graphics, tutorials, multiple grid sizes and (yes!) multiplayer modes. The game will include more than 1,200 puzzles and three levels of difficulty. Buku Sudoku will also let players choose the audio and visual environment.
Buku Sudoku’s multiplayer modes support up to four players offline and up to eight players via Xbox Live. There is also a cooperative mode, as well as an active duel in which the player’s performance directly impacts the opponent’s puzzle.
Meanwhile, Atari’s Warlords (400 Microsoft Points) is return in both a pixel-perfect copy of the original arcade cabinet game as well as a new Evolved version with new 3D graphics. The Xbox 360 version of Warlords will also support two-, three- and four-player multiplayer support both locally and via Xbox Live.
In Warlords, up to four players battle to protect their fortress from attack while battering down their opponents’ fortresses as quickly as possible. Players can defend themselves from incoming fire with a shield while smashing enemies’ defenses by firing flaming balls. It’s also possible to blast holes through the fortress walls and bring the foes’ Warlord tumbling down along with his castle walls.
