In news that should surprise no one, Electronic Arts has confirmed that Battlefield 4 will be coming to both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this holiday season. The information comes shortly after EA Sports showed some significant support for the Xbox One platform and hinted at some substantial strategic-partnership elements that will be announced in the future (likely closer to E3).
Powered by the Frostbite 3 engine, Battlefield 4 will deliver frantic action, high-quality visuals, new character animations and dynamic destruction that ensures no two matches are alike. In addition to being available “this holiday” for early adopters of the Xbox One and PS4, Battlefield 4 will also be available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on October 29.
Players who pre-order Battlefield 4 will receive the Battlefield 4 China Rising premium digital expansion pack at no additional cost. In the BF 4: China Rising DLC, players will fight for dominance across the Chinese mainland in four multiplayer maps using all-new vehicles and high-tech military equipment.
Separately, players who pre-order the Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe on Origin will receive the base game, bonus in-game digital items, the Battlefield 4 China Rising DLC and access to the exclusive Battlefield 4 multiplayer beta.
