Just in time for the long weekend, Xbox One owners can now download and play the Evolve Xbox One Open Beta. 2K Games made the beta available yesterday, but ongoing Xbox Live issues made it a challenge to actually play. Apparently those issues have been resolved, meaning the Evolve Xbox One exclusive Open Beta is now playable.
The Evolve Xbox One exclusive Open Beta runs through Monday, January 19 at 11pm EST / 8pm PST. The game’s also available now for pre-purchase through the Xbox Games Store on Xbox One. Players who pre-purchase either the normal version or the Evolve Digital Deluxe Edition digitally on Xbox One during this weekend’s Open Beta will get an exclusive “instant unlock” of the third Monster and the third tier of Hunters.
Those unlocks will be available for players to use during the Open Beta and immediately at the game’s launch. Note that you will be charged the full amount upon hitting “buy.”
Anyone who participates in the Evolve Xbox One exclusive Open Beta can experience the game’s “Hunt” mode and unlock new Monsters and Hunters as they play. New Hunter and Monster characters that players unlock in the Xbox One exclusive Open Beta will carry over to their copy of the game when it officially releases.
Starting Saturday, January 17 at 3pm EST / 12pm PST, all Open Beta players will gain exclusive access to Evacuation, Evolve’s dynamic campaign that combines the full array of maps and modes.
If you choose to pursue the pre-purchase option, the full Evolve game will download in its current state. While you wait for the game’s official February 10 release date, all updates will automatically download to your Xbox One during that time so the game’s ready to play upon its local release. When that time comes, Evolve will be visible on your Xbox One dashboard in “My Games & Apps.”
